Selena Gomez

Selena Marie Gomez (/s@'li:n@ "goUmez"/s@-LEE'n@ GOH-m born on the 22nd of July, 1992) is an American singer, actress, and producer. Gomez started her acting career on the television show for children called Barney & Friends (2002-2004). When she was a teenager, she gained acclaim by playing Alex Russo on the Disney Channel television series Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-2012). Gomez was also a part of several films which include Another Cinderella Story (2008) and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2010). She also appeared in Ramona and Beezus (2010) as well as Spring Breakers (2012). She was also a voice actor on Mavis in Hotel Transylvania (2012-2022). Gomez, through July Moon Productions, executive produced 13 Reasons Why (2017-2022) and Living Undocumented (1919). In addition, she is the executive producer and is a star in the HBO Max cooking series Selena + Chef (2020-2022) as well as the Hulu mystery-comedy series Only Murders in the Building (2021-present). Gomez received critical praise for the show as well as nominations for a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award as producer. Gomez has released three albums in her former band, Selena Gomez & the Scene All of them made it to the top ten in the US Billboard 200 and were certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA): Kiss & Tell (2009), A Year Without Rain (2010) and Sun is Down (2011). Her first solo album, Stars Dance (2013) was a top album on the U.S. Billboard 200, and its lead single "Come and Get It" was a top ten hit on the US Billboard Hot 100. Gomez's sophomore studio album Revival (2015) was released at the top of the charts in the US it was certified platinum by the RIAA and produced three US top ten hits: "Good for You", "Same Old Love", "Hands to Myself". Rare (2020) the album that was her third studio album was her third straight number-one in the US. The album's first single, "Lose You To Love Me" was the first single to be ranked number one in both the US and Canada. Revelacion the Spanish-language EP is due out in 2021. She was nominated to the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. She has been honored with numerous awards and was named Billboard's Woman of the Year in 2017 She also set 15 Guinness World Records. Time magazine named her one the 100 most influential individuals around the world in 2020. Her following is huge on social media, and is the most followed actress and musician on Instagram. Gomez has also launched perfume, makeup handbag and fragrance lines. She has been involved with a variety of charities and has served as a UNICEF ambassador since the age of 17.
