Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian/American media critic is also a public speaking event organizer. Feminist Frequency was established by Sarkeesian. It hosts video clips which include commentary on the depictions of women in the media and popular culture of today. Anita Sarkeesian has been a blogger, critic of the media and award-winning feminist for nearly 10 years. Feminist Frequency is an educational non-profit website that explores the representations of females in popular culture narratives. Dispelling stereotypes of women is her main focus. In addition, Sarkeesian explores the issue of specific harassment of women on the internet and for other groups which have been excluded. Sarkeesian has a Master's degree in the field of political and social thought from York University. Feminist Frequency was created in 2009 by Sarkeesian. an undergraduate student at York University who had been interested in issues related to gender and feminism since a lengthy period of.
